Dan Scott is considered the villain of the show. He is the father of Nathan and Lucas and the ex husband of Deb, Nathan’s mother. When Dan found out that Deb had ended up sleeping with his older brother, Keith, he got angry and accused Keith of always wanting his left over. He hired Jules to make Keith fall in love with him as revenge but Jules ended up really falling for Keith.

Dan has neglected Lucas most of his life, and doesn’t want anything to do with him or his mother, Karen. But during the later part of Lucas’ teen life, he decided he now finally wants to be a father figure. When Deb ended up setting fire on Dan’s dealership, he immediately thinks that Keith was the one who did it. He shoots Keith and killed him but let Jimmy Edwards take the blame as Jimmy committed suicide. As Lucas is gradually accepting his father into his life, he gets angry again when he learns about what happened to Keith. Dan eventually turns himself to the police so his sons could forgive him.

Dan is portrayed by Paul Johansson. Paul is a Canadian actor, born on January 26, 1964. He has appeared on several TV shows such as Santa Barbara, where he played the role of Greg Hughes, and on the TV series Highlander: The Series where he played the role of Nick Wolfe. He has also appeared on Beverly Hills 90210 and Lonesome Dove.
