Lucas is Nathan’s half brother. He is the illegitimate son of Dan Scott and Karen Roe during their high school days. Lucas has a strained and complicated relationship with his father because he abandoned him for his other son, Nathan. Lucas and Nathan were rivals at the start of the series, especially because Nathan is also a popular basketball player in their high school team. They eventually became close friends later when Lucas’ best friend, Haley James, began dating Nathan which eventually drew them together.

Lucas’ character is one of the popular crowds, mainly because he is a talented basketball player. Aside from being a star athlete, he is also a brilliant writer. He later had to quit basketball when he found out that he had a genetic heart problem. He shifted his focus on his writing and published a book about the people of Tree Hill.

Lucas’ love life is also complicated. He bounced between relationship with Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis. He became engaged with his publisher, Lindsay but this doesn’t work out. He eventually ended up with Peyton, they marry and had a daughter named Sawyer Brooke Scott.

Chad Michael Murray plays the role of Lucas. Murray is a former fashion model for Skechers, Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci and many others before becoming an actor. He has starred in a number of films including Freaky Friday, A Cinderella Story, and House of Wax. He was also named one of the Sexiest Man Alive in 2006 by People magazine.
